According to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, around 25 allies agreed on Saturday to keep putting more restrictions on Russia's economy in an effort to get President Vladimir Putin to sit down and negotiate a cease-fire in the country's war with Ukraine. At a press conference in London, Starmer stated to reporters, "The effects of the sanctions have been pretty profound."
By doubling down and escalating sanctions, "we shouldn't underestimate the impact they've already had," "that will cause even more pressure."
